"Life isn't worth living unless you're willing to take some big chances and go for broke." ~Eliot Wiggington

Meg and I often find ourselves engulfed in silly conversations about the strangest things. That night was no different. The restaurant we chose was buzzing, forcing us to dine at the bar. Not long after pulling up a chair did it take for the hard day to fade into yesterday. Two medium-rare porter house steaks, a bottle of a rather oakey full bodied cabernet, the plan was hatched. Sip by sip, bite by bite it began to take shape. The more we talked about it, the more excited we became. This could be the chance of a life time. The possibilities truly are endless when you put great minds together with a thirst for adventure. The evening dinner spiraled into a late night dessert as we gave life to our wild and crazy idea. We paid the bill and walked whispering to our cars never dropping the smiles from our mouths.

We have all heard great stories of adventurous people wishing they had embarked down an unknown path, but after millions of excuses, most will fail to even take the first step. We have chosen the other path. I honestly believed my mother when she said I can do anything I set my mind on. I think Robert Frost sums it up beautifully in the final stanza of his poem ‘The Road Not Taken’.

"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

.... Now that I have tickled your interested, I will let you in on the plan. On April 20th the clock stops for an estimated 1 year. During this time Meg and I plan to put our certified skills to the test and sail Sapphire south. We invite you to cruise with us as we cast off the bowlines and ride the winds. So following our progress, blogs, and stories that we will be updating along the way and drop us a note or email to keep us up to date.
